ForgeCNC 0.2.0

31 October 2026

In this release

  • Independent machine catalogue updates with review, apply, offline import/export and rollback.
  • Toolpath and stock-carving playback, including carving at the preview datum on the illustrated machine.
  • Named fixture datums, guided job preparation and searchable in-app help.
  • Manual command console and a dockable machine-watch panel with distinct channel colours.

Validation scope

The exact Windows package passed 19 bounded native checks; the Linux packages passed 42 on Debian 13.4 x86_64 with software rendering. These checks do not establish sustained reliability or physical-machine readiness.

Still open

  • Windows installer is unsigned
  • Clean-machine installation and upgrade/rollback certification remain open
  • Linux native checks used Debian 13.4 x86_64 with Xvfb/software rendering
  • Other distributions and architectures remain unqualified
  • No physical CNC transport used
  • Sustained acceptance is incomplete; historical Windows run failed at 39/1700, recovery case 10
  • Native Linux Settings machine dropdowns rendered pale labels on light backgrounds in the headless WebKit screenshots. GTK_THEME=Adwaita:dark did not resolve this. Functional catalogue checks passed, but native dropdown contrast remains an open visual defect.
